Yes. An approved program may offer a “challenge” test once to an employee if they have education and/or work experiences similar to what is required for DCWs. The educational and work experiences must be verified. The challenge test cannot be repeated. A student who takes the challenge test and fails (either written or skills tests or both) must be trained and, then, retake and pass the written and skills tests.
We at PTS don’t recommend this however…. It’s a good class. Just take it.  :)
